sgcUI for Delphi FireMonkey (Windows) Accessibility Conformance Report

International Edition, based on VPAT Version 2.5 INT

Name of Product/Version
sgcUI for Delphi FireMonkey (Windows), sgcUI 2026.10
Report Date
October 2026
Product Description
sgcUI is a suite of user interface components for application developers. This report covers the accessibility layer of the sgcUI for Delphi FireMonkey (Windows) components: sgcGrid, sgcPivotGrid, sgcCharts, sgcGauges, sgcDashboard, sgcPlanner, sgcDiagram, sgcWizard, sgcNavigation, sgcToolbar, sgcEditors, sgcMaps. Platform: Delphi FireMonkey applications on Windows (Win32 and Win64). FireMonkey on macOS, iOS and Android is not covered: the accessibility layer is not available there in this release. The components expose their content to assistive technology through UI Automation fragment providers attached to the form window, with every sgcUI control exposed as a fragment of the form root and hosted sgcUI controls embedded in their containers. They follow Windows high contrast, draw a visible focus indicator, offer keyboard alternatives for pointer operations and support right to left layouts and high DPI. Accessibility is on by default in every edition, including the Community edition.

Notes
  • The product is a set of software components that developers place in their own applications. Each criterion is judged for what the components provide. Many criteria depend on how the application uses them (names of images, labels, colours, instructions, error handling); the remarks say where that is the developer's responsibility.
  • Not covered by this report: the sgcPDF viewer control and the sgcReports preview control, which do not expose accessibility information in this release. The tagged PDF and PDF/UA output of the sgcPDF and sgcReports libraries is a document feature and is not evaluated here.
  • The WCAG 2.1 tables list the conformance for each context of the International edition. The Web, Electronic Documents and Authoring Tool contexts are Not Applicable for every row: the product is non-web software.
  • Rows that depend on how assistive technology presents the exposed information were verified with the NVDA 2026.2 screen reader on Windows (see Evaluation Methods). Narrator was not tested.
  • FireMonkey on macOS, iOS and Android: the accessibility layer is not available in this release (Does Not Support). A separate report will follow when it is.
Evaluation Methods Used
  • Review of the implementation of the accessibility layer against the design specification, product by product.
  • Automated in process tests in the product QA suites: the providers are called directly in process and check names, roles, values, states, patterns, element trees, bounds (also under right to left layouts and at 100 to 200 percent DPI), keyboard alternatives, focus indicator rendering, high contrast rendering (reference images) and the zero cost rule when no client listens. Delphi: D7 and D13 Win32 and Win64 builds, C++Builder packages, Linux64 for the neutral units.
  • Colour contrast of the theme colours measured with the WCAG relative luminance formula.
  • Manual screen reader testing with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows, on every platform of this suite. Result for this report: FireMonkey on Windows 58 checks passed and 0 failed.
  • Inspection with Accessibility Insights for Windows and AxeWindows 2.4.2: scans were run on the test applications and all real defects found were fixed.
  • Narrator was not tested. No other screen reader was tested.

Under high contrast, item and series colours set by the application are replaced by system colours with outlines. In the default light and dark themes, chart series, planner categories and grid formatting rules are distinguished by colour unless the developer adds markers, dash patterns, data labels or text; the same information is always exposed as text to assistive technology.
1.4.2 Audio Control Also applies to: EN 301 549 Criteria: 9.1.4.2 (Web), 10.1.4.2 (Non-web document), 11.1.4.2 (Open Functionality Software), 11.8.2 (Authoring Tool), 12.1.2 (Product Docs), 12.2.4 (Support Docs). Revised Section 508: 501 (Web)(Software), 504.2 (Authoring Tool), 602.3 (Support Docs)

Every component is operable by keyboard, and keyboard alternatives exist for the pointer only operations of earlier versions: moving and resizing dashboard tiles, planner items and diagram shapes, moving Kanban cards, creating Gantt dependencies and diagram links, adding shapes from the palette, moving pivot fields and grid columns (verified by automated keyboard tests). Exceptions with no keyboard alternative: sgcGrid column width resizing, sgcCharts zoom and pan by mouse and the financial drawing tools, sgcDiagram connector bend points. Applications can offer these through the component API.
2.1.2 No Keyboard Trap Also applies to: EN 301 549 Criteria: 9.2.1.2 (Web), 10.2.1.2 (Non-web document), 11.2.1.2 (Open Functionality Software), 11.8.2 (Authoring Tool), 12.1.2 (Product Docs), 12.2.4 (Support Docs). Tab and Shift+Tab move the focus out of every component, with one deliberate exception that has a documented exit: while an sgcDiagram view is editable, Tab and Shift+Tab cycle the selection and Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab move the focus to the next and the previous control (see the Diagram keyboard help topic). A read only diagram view does not capture Tab. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.

Built in animations (gauge value transitions, chart animations) are short transitions that end on their own. Content that updates automatically (live data in grids and charts) is driven by the application, which decides how to pause it; change highlighting in sgcGrid is configured by the application.
2.3.1 Three Flashes or Below Threshold Also applies to: EN 301 549 Criteria: 9.2.3.1 (Web), 10.2.3.1 (Non-web document), 11.2.3.1 (Open Functionality Software), 11.8.2 (Authoring Tool), 12.1.2 (Product Docs), 12.2.4 (Support Docs). CriteriaConformance LevelRemarks and Explanations
302.1 Without VisionPartially SupportsThe components expose their content, structure and state through the platform accessibility API (see 4.1.2). Limitations: the sgcMaps map image is described by centre and zoom only; the pointer only operations listed under 2.1.1. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
302.2 With Limited VisionPartially SupportsHigh contrast is followed (Windows high contrast is followed automatically while a control uses the default theme (utDefault), and the new utHighContrast theme forces it), text scales with the font and DPI, and every focused element shows a focus ring. Limitations of the default themes are listed under 1.4.3 and 1.4.11. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
302.3 Without Perception of ColorPartially SupportsInformation is never conveyed by colour alone to assistive technology, and high contrast replaces application colours with outlines; in the default themes chart series and categories rely on colour unless the developer adds markers or labels (1.4.1).
302.4 Without HearingNot ApplicableThe components produce no audio.
302.5 With Limited HearingNot ApplicableThe components produce no audio.
302.6 Without SpeechNot ApplicableThe components require no speech input.
302.7 With Limited ManipulationPartially SupportsEvery function except those listed under 2.1.1 can be operated by keyboard alone, no gesture or simultaneous pointer action is needed, and key combinations work with StickyKeys.
302.8 With Limited Reach and StrengthSupportsSoftware components operated by keyboard or pointer; no physical reach or strength is involved.
302.9 With Limited Language, Cognitive, and Learning AbilitiesSupportsOne keyboard model across the suite (documented in the help), no time limits, no automatic context changes. The content shown is the application's.

501.1 Scope, Incorporation of WCAG 2.0 AASee WCAG 2.1 sectionSee the WCAG 2.1 tables, Software context.
502.2.1 User Control of Accessibility FeaturesNot ApplicableApplies to platform software. The components are not platform software.
502.2.2 No Disruption of Accessibility FeaturesSupportsThe components do not disable or override platform accessibility features (high contrast, StickyKeys, Magnifier, Narrator) and follow high contrast.
502.3.1 Object InformationSupportsName, role, states, bounds, help text and automation id of every component and virtual element are exposed through UI Automation fragment providers attached to the form window, with every sgcUI control exposed as a fragment of the form root and hosted sgcUI controls embedded in their containers. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.2 Modification of Object InformationSupportsStates the user can change are settable through patterns: selection (SelectionItem), expansion (ExpandCollapse), checked state (Toggle) and focus. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.3 Row, Column, and HeadersSupportssgcGrid, sgcPivotGrid and the calendar of sgcEditors expose the Grid and Table patterns with column and row headers; cells expose GridItem and TableItem. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.4 ValuesSupportsValues are exposed with the Value and RangeValue patterns (editor values, cell text, gauge values, data point values, progress panels). Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.5 Modification of ValuesSupportsEditable values (editors, editable grid cells, sliders, spinners, ratings) can be set through the Value and RangeValue patterns when not read only. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.6 Label RelationshipsPartially SupportsNames come from AccessibleName, captions, titles and headers, and grid cells are related to their headers (1.3.1). No LabeledBy relationship to a separate label control is exposed; the developer sets AccessibleName instead. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.7 Hierarchical RelationshipsSupportsParent and child relationships are exposed through the element tree (rows and cells, series and points, groups and items, tiles and hosted controls). Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.8 TextPartially SupportsText is exposed as names and values. The UIA Text pattern (text attributes, caret and selection inside editors and diagram labels) is not implemented. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.9 Modification of TextSupportsEditable text can be set through the Value pattern. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.10 List of ActionsSupportsAvailable actions are advertised as patterns (Invoke, Toggle, ExpandCollapse, SelectionItem, ScrollItem where the platform has it). Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.11 Actions on ObjectsSupportsEvery advertised pattern executes the same action as the pointer or keyboard (verified by automated tests). Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.12 Focus CursorSupportsThe focused element is exposed (HasKeyboardFocus, focus changed events, bounds) and a focus ring is drawn on it. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.13 Modification of Focus CursorSupportsSetFocus moves the focus to focusable elements (cells, points, tiles, items, shapes, steps, markers); the focus ring follows. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.3.14 Event NotificationSupportsFocus, selection, property, structure and status changes are raised through the platform API (status text is raised with UiaRaiseNotificationEvent on Windows 10 version 1709 and later, and as a LiveRegionChanged event with the text on the root element on older Windows versions), and nothing is computed while no client listens. Verified with NVDA 2026.2 on Windows. Narrator was not tested.
502.4 Platform Accessibility FeaturesSupportsThe components take keyboard input through the platform, so StickyKeys, FilterKeys, ToggleKeys and key repeat work unchanged.
503.2 User PreferencesPartially SupportsWindows high contrast is followed automatically while a control uses the default theme (utDefault), and the new utHighContrast theme forces it, and sizes follow the monitor DPI. Fonts are application properties, so the system text size setting is applied only when the application maps it to the component fonts.
503.3 Alternative User InterfacesNot ApplicableThe components provide no alternative user interface.
503.4.1 Caption ControlsNot ApplicableThe components play no video.
503.4.2 Audio Description ControlsNot ApplicableThe components play no video.
