sgcUI sgcRichEdit is available right now

sgcRichEdit. A word processor inside your application.

Give your users a document editor with styles, lists, tables, images and links. Read and write JSON, HTML, Markdown and RTF, and export DOCX, PDF and PNG pages. One document model drives the VCL, FireMonkey, WinForms, WPF and Avalonia controls, and it renders without a window, on Linux64 too. A rich text editor for Delphi, C++ Builder and .NET, with source code included.

  • VCL
  • FireMonkey
  • WinForms
  • WPF
  • Avalonia
  • Delphi 7 to 13

Everything a document editor needs.

A real document model, the formats your users already have, input in every script and output for paper, PDF and screen readers. sgcRichEdit covers all of it in one product.

  • Real documents

Styles, lists, tables with merged cells, images and hyperlinks.

  • Open formats

JSON, HTML, Markdown and RTF in and out, DOCX, PDF and PNG out.

  • Every language

IME for Japanese, Chinese and Korean, right to left and mixed Arabic and English text.

  • Every platform

VCL, FireMonkey, WinForms, WPF and Avalonia, plus headless rendering on Linux64.

See it run.

Write the document
  • Built in styles: Normal, Heading 1 to 6, Title, Subtitle, Quote, Code, List Paragraph, Hyperlink and Table Grid. Changing the Heading 1 style changes every heading at once.
  • Lists with 9 levels: bullets, numbers, letters and roman numerals.
  • Tables with merged cells across columns and rows, header rows, borders, backgrounds and nested tables, plus inline images and hyperlinks with an OnLinkClick event.

Editing that feels familiar

The shortcuts and commands users already know.

  • Undo and redo with typing grouped into words, Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, Ctrl+U, alignment, headings, bullets and Ctrl+K for links.
  • Find and replace, including regular expressions, with Replace All as one undo step.
  • Every command from code through ExecuteCommand and CommandState, and through VCL and FireMonkey actions, so a toolbar or a ribbon stays in sync with the selection. FireMonkey adds a touch mode with selection handles.

Data and platforms

Documents stored in your database.

  • TsgcVCLDBRichEdit and TsgcFMXDBRichEdit connect to a TDataSource, read memo and BLOB fields and write the document back when the user leaves the control.
  • FieldFormat (Auto, JSON, HTML, RTF, Markdown or Text) and FieldEncoding choose how the field is stored, and AutoDisplay loads large documents on demand.
  • On .NET, the DocumentText property binds to your data in WinForms, WPF and Avalonia.

Print, export and .NET

Paper, PDF and PNG from the same document.

  • Print and PrintPreview on VCL, FireMonkey, WinForms, WPF and Avalonia, with header rows repeated on each page of a table.
  • ExportToPDF writes a tagged PDF through the sgcPDF engine, and ExportToPNG renders any page at the resolution you choose, also without a window.
  • TsgcWinFormsRichEdit with data binding and a Visual Studio designer, TsgcWpfRichEdit and TsgcAvaloniaRichEdit use the same names as the Delphi controls.

Convert a document in a few lines.

Load an RTF file from Word and save it as HTML, Markdown, DOCX, PDF and PNG. Each format unit in the uses clause registers its reader or writer, and sgcUIPDF_Export connects the PDF export to sgcPDF.
